#Blimage Challenge! Game On!

#Blimage

So here I was, tra-la-la-ing through my Monday, minding my own business, when I saw this tweet from Steve Wheeler (UK @timbuckteeth).

So being curious, and looking for a reason to stop cleaning my office – I fell down the rabbit hole to read his post “Blimey, it’s #Blimage!”, and I hit gold! Apparently there is a challenge going on with the hashtag #blimage (yes, that’s a thing now.) A mix “blog” and “image”. The challenge, for his purpose, and inspired by  Amy Burvall (USA @amyburvall) and Simon Ensor (France @sensor63) is to take a picture, send it to friend and they in turn create an L&D inspired blog post based on said picture and so on. FUN!

Now, Larry Straining (USA @Larrystraining) and I had just been having a Facebook messenger conversation (Okay, so I didn’t get much office cleaning done) about gamification and we were JUST TALKING about Mousetrap, the Game. Can you say serendipity?  I had to use that image to kick off our challenge. There are so many traditional images that conjure up the thought of learning, training, development etc., etc. But we’re Rebels – so let’s kick it off with something a little less traditional.

I hope you will play along!

It’s time to wake the brain up from it’s summer slumber (I know I needed to be woken up!) and play with the concept of Learning and Development with a little challenge. In all seriousness, the challenge stems from the need to encourage teachers (and learning practitioners) to blog more and in turn create a learning environment where everyone can benefit. We all grow when we share our thoughts and our work. Ideas beget other ideas, which in turn can lead to building richer learning experiences not only for ourselves but for whomever is our end-user.

Which is what we are all here to do…help people grow and be the best versions of themselves.

#Blimage – The Official Challenge:

MouseTrap1

Take this  image and write a L&D related blog post of your own. Then, either in the comments below or on the Learning Rebels Facebook page, post a link to your blog so we can share and “show our work”! Be sure to include a picture that you would like to see as part of the challenge going forward – and don’t forget the hastag #Blimage.  Your picture may inspire the next #blimage challenge! ~ Shannon

Shannon, I don’t have a blog but I want to play along. Awesome happy to have you – now head on over to FB and post your thoughts, easy peasy!  Learning Rebels Facebook #blimage. (Then get started with that blog!)

Have fun! I look forward to seeing your results!

Bonus: In the comment section below share how do you see a challenges like this helping the L&D community.
